THINGS TO EXPERIENCE IN

SUMMIT COUNTY

Let's help you plan the most epic vacation

There's something for everyone

EXPERIENCE THE MOUNTAINS LIKE A LOCAL

Silverthorne, Colorado began as a small railroad and ranching town in the late 1800s, named after Judge Marshall Silverthorne, a Denver businessman who helped support the expansion of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway through the Rocky Mountains. Nestled along the Blue River and surrounded by the Tenmile and Gore mountain ranges, the town sits in the heart of Summit County. Today, Silverthorne is known as a convenient basecamp for exploring Colorado’s high country, with easy access to world-class ski resorts, Lake Dillon, scenic mountain passes, and miles of hiking and biking trails. In recent years, a revitalized downtown—anchored by the Silverthorne Performing Arts Center, local shops, and gathering spaces—has added new energy to the community while maintaining the relaxed mountain character that draws visitors back season after season.
